Research at the Department of Chemistry at Sookmyung covers many sub-disciplines of chemistry including analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, and computational chemistry. Ten faculty members direct programs across all these research areas.
Fundamental principles in chemistry are the basis of many of the solutions to problems faced in society today. Because of this, each faculty member is an expert in their own field, contributing to fundamental principles through research. In addition, the department emphasizes the importance of collaboration, which is reflected in the various roles that faculty members have throughout the institute.
