Chemical biology provides a useful tool and substance required for answering the unsolved questions and for satisfying the unmet needs in biomedical sciences. By applying novel chemical compounds or chemical principles into biological systems, we can effectively control the systems or monitor their responses, which in turn gives us the new information regarding the systems and the tools that can fix abnormal conditions. From the biomedical point of view, chemical biology offers a way to diagnose and treat diseases. In this presentation, a few examples on how chemical biology can be utilized to solve important problems in biomedical sciences will be introduced.
